Who may adopt?
An adult.
Husband and wife jointly.

Consent for adoption to be executed?
The mother may not give consent until 12 hours after the child's birth. Consent must be executed not more than 6 months before an adoption petition is filed.

Revocation of consent?
A consent is final when executed unless the consenting party, prior to the final decree of adoption, proves by clear and convincing evidence that consent was not freely and clearly given.

Who may place a child for adoption?
The child's parent(s).
Legal guardian.
Person in loco parentis.
A child-placing agency.

Advertising?
No person shall advertise that such person will adopt, find an adoptive home for a child, or otherwise place a child for adoption. This provision shall not apply to a licensed child placement agency.
As used in this section, ''advertise'' means to communicate by newspaper, radio, television, handbills, placards or other print, or broadcast or electronic medium.

Putative Father's Registry?
No.
Notice of termination proceeding is given to every person identified as the father or possible father. The court will determine if any man has formally or informally acknowledged or declared possible paternity.

Birth parent
Incidental to the adoption.

Department/Agency –
The costs of making the adoption assessment and report may be assessed as court costs.
Foster care for the child, if needed.
